Here is a quick fix for the Crysis 3 problem that brings up a console box or terminal window when you press the back button. Step 1: Open Text Editor -Press Windows Key + R to open window and type "regedit" without quotes. -Press Enter key to continue. -Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Electronic Arts\\Crytek\\Crysis3 -Right click on Crysis3 and select New > DWORD (32 bit) Value > Name this variable "bShowConsoleOnBack" without quotes. -Double click bShowConsoleOnBack and set it's value to 0 then close Edit Window. Step 2: Edit Launch.cfg File -Press Windows Key + R to open window and type "%appdata%" without quotes and press Enter. -Navigate to "\\Origin Games\\Crysis 3\\" and open the launch.cfg file in notepad. -Add the following line at the end of file: +set com_allowconsole 1 or if you want to enable it on startup add this line right after "exec user.cfg" : "+com_allowconsole 1" without quotes please note that you can use any program that launches when you start it for example Steam, Origin, etc.... -Press Ctrl+S to save the file and close notepad. -Double click Crysis3.exe and it should bring up console window or console box when you press back button on your keyboard.
